🗜️ JSON Minifier
Compress JSON to its smallest size by parsing and re-serializing with no whitespace. Instant validation and size reduction — all in your browser, no upload.
About the JSON Minifier
This JSON minifier runs entirely in your browser. Paste your JSON, click Minify, and get the most compact version instantly. The tool parses your input with JSON.parse and re-serializes it with JSON.stringify using no indentation or extra whitespace — the smallest valid representation. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
Why minify JSON?
Whitespace, line breaks, and indentation make JSON readable for humans, but they add bytes that networks and storage have to carry. Minified JSON can be 30–60% smaller than pretty-printed JSON, which speeds up API responses, reduces bandwidth costs, and lowers storage requirements in databases and caches.
How it works
- Paste your JSON into the input box.
- Click Minify to compress it, or Validate to only check syntax.
- Review the stats line for original size, minified size, and percentage saved.
- Click Copy to copy the minified JSON, or Clear to start over.
Frequently asked questions
Will minification change my data? No. The minifier parses your JSON into a JavaScript value and serializes it back. The data is identical — only the formatting (whitespace) is removed.
Does it support JSON5 or comments? No. This tool only supports standard JSON (RFC 8259). Comments, trailing commas, and single-quoted strings will be reported as errors.
Is my JSON uploaded anywhere? No. All parsing and minification happens locally in your browser. Your data never leaves your device.
